Two bands in a week
Trevor is one of the finest clarinettists in the UK today. If you’re going to play in the Benny Goodman style you’ll need to capture the brilliant virtuosity, mellifluous tone, rhythmic excitement and imaginative flair of the master and Trevor does all this in a way that delights his audience.
This Friday, we have the all star rhythm section. Pianist Colin Good, who is a modern day Teddy Wilson. Anthony Kerr, the brilliant vibraphonist who has played with everyone from Georgie Fame to the BBC Big Band. The tastefully swinging bassist Jerome Davies. And one of Botany Bay’s favourite drummers Richard Pite, whose Gene Krupa style is familiar to many. They play a wide spectrum of Benny’s music together with interesting historical anecdotes.
